About Us

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Japan is an alliance of Japanese agents who offer all types of insurance and related services. We represent more than one insurer to offer clients various types of property/casualty and life/health insurance.

The IIAB of Japan was founded in 2006 as the Japan chapter of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, Inc., or IIABA. Since our first annual convention in Tokyo in 2007, which featured Robert A. Rusbuldt, CEO of IIABA, we have been providing the industry with information on agency operations, technology usage, legal issues, and risk management services through annual conventions and Best Practices seminars in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and other cities all over Japan. We contribute our efforts to improve Japanese industry so clients are treated reasonably and fairly.

We help our clients both to solve problems related to risks and insurance, and to offer the best pricing and coverage by using our access to multiple insurers. In order to best perform our services, we strive to enhance professional ability and expertise.

IIABA has been contributing to the development of US independent agents for over 100 years. We of IIABJ learn from the experiences and knowledge of US independent agents to improve our industry.
